ALLEGED RAPE: DSK has been gifted with a conditional release

DSK will recover his deposit and the housing collateral deposited in exchange for his release. But he has not yet been discharged from the accusations against him for rapt. The appointment of 18 July with the law in New York is still maintained while in the evening a letter of acknowledging the prosecutor a "false story" of the complainant.

It lasted barely ten minutes. Following two small questions from the judge then DSK was released but not exonerated. The deposit and the guarantee made by DSK will be refunded. Her house arrest lifted.
But his passport remains in the hands of the justice in New York and it will appear as scheduled at the preliminary hearing of 18 July. The seven charges hanging over his shoulders also remain unchanged. This was decided by Judge Michael J. on Friday in a room in front of a crowd of journalists. "The prosecutor's office will continue to investigate and the judicial process will continue in a fair manner to all parties," he said

Once again, many French and American journalists for the most part were present. A queue formed outside Room 1351 of the court at 8 am - the hearing was scheduled for 11:30 am in New York. Outside, onlookers were armed with their cameras to watch the arrival and exit from the French. Around 11 am, DSK came to court with Anne Sinclair. His lawyers, William Taylor and Ben Brafman, had good days. In the room, they took position alongside two attorneys Joan Illuzzi-Orbon and John McConnell, in charge of proving the guilt of the French, awaiting the arrival of the judge. Also in the room, counsel for Nafissatou Diallo and his partner Kenneth Thompson Wigdor Douglass.

Under the high ceilings of the large courtroom, Ms. Illuzzi-Orbon opened the hearing by confirming a strong voice that easily covered the sound of computer keyboard of journalists, there were doubts about the credibility victim's testimony. The judge responded that there was no question of judging the merits of the case that day. Only the conditions of detention of DSK were important on Friday. "There can be no precipitation in the trial of this case. Mr Strauss-Kahn, it is expected of you as you come to the hearing on July 18," he recalled. Admitting the fate, DSK and Anne Sinclair walked away through a small door on the left of the desk of the judge, but not before shaking hands with his attorneys and smiled.

By late afternoon, we learned that in a letter dated Thursday and sent to lawyers of DSK, Cyrus Vance Jr., the prosecutor acknowledged that Nafissatou Diallo had a "false story" of the alleged facts, and quick to denounce the alleged assault. " The complainant acknowledged that after the incident in 2806 after it had cleared an adjoining room and was returned to the suite (DSK) before reporting the incident to his supervisor," thus the prosecutor's office said in the letter.
